Job Position: Assistant Supervisor of Cash Registers

Overview:
The Assistant Supervisor of Cash and Customer Care is responsible for organizing and
monitoring the cashiers and work processes at the store’s cash registers in full compliance
with customer needs and expectations, as well as the standards and values of the Group.
They ensure that transactions and sales processes at the store’s registers, as well as the
storage and movement of monetary values, are in accordance with the country’s legal
regulations and the company’s approved security protocols and internal procedures.
Providing service that exceeds customer expectations through excellent communication is
one of the main responsibilities of the Assistant Supervisor of Cash and Customer Care
and their team.
Main Responsibilities
• Opens the store in the morning according to the company’s approved procedure.
• Monitors the lighting usage schedule according to the company’s policy and the
store management’s instructions.
• Ensures and monitors the cleanliness of the cash register area and the impulse-buy
area, motivating and coordinating the team to maintain perfect cleanliness and
order in the cash register area.
• Ensures that all legally required information is available at the cash registers
according to the applicable laws and regulations.
• Daily checks the cash register equipment and immediately reports any
malfunctions or defects to the store manager.
• Closely follows up on the repair of equipment if reported with defects to restore
them to service as soon as possible.
• Monitors the Cashier team to ensure they adhere to company policies regarding
work appearance, such as uniforms, hygiene rules, etc.
• Scans the daily attendance list and reports it to the Human Resources department
as per approved procedures.
• Responsible for addressing abusive attendance behaviors and reporting them to the
Store Manager.
• Opens cash registers in the morning, ensuring that cashiers have the necessary
change within the approved limits.
• Monitors transactions at the cash registers to ensure they comply with legal
requirements and internal company policies.
• Immediately reports irregular transactions, abusive cashier actions, or careless
incidents to store management.
• Monitors the accuracy and security of transactions carried out by the team during
their shift.
• Takes preventive measures to avoid counterfeit bills among the team and cashiers.
• Trains the staff on recognizing local and foreign currencies.
• Maintains the cash control equipment and ensures that it is in working condition.
• Ensures customer service at the information point and actively participates in
communication with customers, adhering to company standards.
• Closes the cash registers at the end of each shift for every cashier and reconciles
the system with sales.
• Performs sales with invoices in NAV and completes the tax invoice.
• Checks if the stock management program and the sales program reconcile with the
fiscal printer.
• Monitors the need for change used in the store and requests the appropriate
amount in time.
• Counts the safe daily in the morning.
• Monitors the cashiers’ needs for consumables, such as thermal rolls, and ensures
that they are requested in time.
• Monitors the need for periodic services on fiscal equipment and informs the store
manager and the finance department to facilitate the service.
• Executes authorized discounts using their user account and ensures the
confidentiality of their user account.
• Continuously develops the staff so that transactions at the cash registers are
carried out with excellent service and without delays.
• Reacts immediately to critical situations or customer problems and informs the
store manager.
• Ensures that requests for exchanges, returns, and customer complaints are
accurately directed to the relevant departments, the repair technical staff, keeping
written records, and reports to the store manager.
• Works in full cooperation with security staff to address security issues, conflicts
with customers, and monitor the security of transactions at the registers.
• Assists the store manager in preparing the weekly shift schedule for the Cash
Department.
• Ensures that there are sufficient cash registers during busy times to provide good
customer service.
• Coordinates and distributes daily tasks to the team in the store’s operational
processes.
• Coordinates the team in organizing and replenishing the cash register and impulse￾buy areas.
• Organizes the work to ensure that perishable products and impulse-buy items are
presented according to the company’s merchandising rules.
• Ensures that promotions and various commercial or informational applications are
communicated properly.
• Ensures that each customer is accurately informed about the initiative regarding
paid bags.
• Coordinates and mentors the team at the information point to ensure excellent
service based on effective communication with the customer during the process of
taking or delivering shopping bags, or addressing information, exchange, return,
technical assistance, and more.
• Maintains and manages documentation, archives, and records of registers and cash
movements in the store.
• Maintains the store’s financial archive in accordance with the finance department’s
standards.
• Closes and reports cash registers at the end of the day according to company
standards.
• Ensures that accumulated earnings are kept in the safe and not outside it, following
the approved security protocols.
• Makes cash deposits/withdrawals according to approved security protocols.
• Closes the store on time.
• Acts as shift manager when the manager/assistant manager and merchandiser are
not present.
• Personally trains new cashiers and reports their development progress.
• Conducts quarterly and annual performance evaluations for cashiers.
• Monitors the store’s music transmission and reports any malfunctions.
• Ensures that announcements made over the microphone comply with the
company’s standards and ethical rules, preventing any abuse.
• Informs the store staff and responsible supervisors in case of pricing errors. Reports
such cases to the store manager.
• Handles customer-approved returns and exchanges.
Competencies and Requirements
• High school or higher education
• At least one year of experience in cashiering
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Knowledge of the English language
