The SPAR supermarket chain provides a wide variety of products to the Albanian market, at approximately 40,000 products in the food and non-food categories.

SPAR International owns several product lines, manufactured in the best European factories and offering the same quality in every country, including Albania.

SPAR Albania is the only chain with 2 hypermarkets in Tirana and 79 stores in 17 cities in Albania.

Job position: Digital Champion
Location: Head Office, Tirana

Summary of the position:

  • The role of Digital Champion will be responsible for moving forward the company digital ambition in accordance with the group digital strategy and the company business strategy.
  • The role acts as a driver of change, empowered to challenge every aspect of the business and established processes. Collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to produce new or improved, digital oriented, processes and systematically gets and incorporates end-customer feedback into new value-added products and services. Identifies, proposes, and manages digital initiatives and projects and ensures alignment with the digital strategy.
  • Key person in building awareness and digital state of presence within the company by building digital communication plan, identifying talent, and steadily creating digital capabilities in the company.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advance the digital agenda of the company in alignment with the group and company strategies.
  • Analyze internal and external processes and collaborates with relevant stakeholders to propose improvements.
  • Aligns every initiative with the areas of the digital strategy, focusing on client centricity and seamless experience across all channels.
  • Identifies areas of improvement and proposes initiatives for their implementation.
  • Manages most of the projects and initiatives and sees to their completion.
  • Active participation in budgeting process – advocate of digital initiatives inclusion.
  • Closely monitors company digital initiatives and alignment with the group digital strategy.
  • Organizes frequently customer feedback gathering sessions as part of customer facing processes review.
  • Reports frequently the status of digital initiatives to the company management.
  • Participates regularly in meeting with his/her peers in other companies.
  • Proactive in introducing and aligning initiatives with other group retail companies.
  • Increases digital awareness in company through frequent communication of ongoing initiatives, innovations in industry, market, and technology level.
  • Collaborates with human resource to devise a plan to include digitalization in the training curriculum, targeted trainings to build specific capabilities.
  • Identifies and closely collaborates with “digital talents” to better spread and adopt the digital mindset.
  • Periodically and jointly reports to the group Digital Board on the status of digital initiatives in company and group level.
  • Closely collaborates with Information Systems department to prioritize, supervise and implement digital initiatives.


Competency profile:

  • Digital literate, competent in using applications and systems to fulfill daily jobs.
  • Possesses a holistic view of main areas and processes in the typical retail industry company, experience in the group companies is a plus.
  • Good understanding of process mapping and modeling – ability to think towards automation and seamless system integration.
  • Good know-how of online sales and digital marketing.
  • Up-to date with recent developments in industry and good understanding of industry standards.

Qualifications and Skills:
 Education: Bachelor’s degree in economics or Similar Fields.
 Work Experience: Minimum 2 year of work experience in related profile.

  • Basic knowledge of project management processes and tools, Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Proactive and change oriented.
  • Ability to have a positive impact on others and to communicate openly and directly to individuals of groups at all levels.
  • Show digital leadership and encourage others.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and guide others to the same standards.
  • Ability to objectively strategize into daily activities, guide and motivate others to do the same.
  • Ability to work well under stress, being flexible, positive, and focused on changing periods.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
