We are seeking to welcome a candidate in the Project Manager, (Band 4T) position to join our Digital Transformation Department reporting directly to the Head of Department.
Overall Job Definition
A Project Manager oversee the project management duties for software development projects from initiation through release, delivering new and enhanced products. In this high-profile role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of different system solutions in the financial area. Use your strong interpersonal skills to identify and engage with project stakeholders and then manage the ongoing communications to ensure all are kept informed at an appropriate level. Able to harness a distributed and multi-functional team covering digital development, engineering, and quality assurance. In this role you must have the ability to facilitate dialogue between developers and product owners.
Main Responsibilities:
- Serve as Project Manager for software development of new or enhanced products using both agile and traditional methodology.
- Create and manage project plans, ensuring the successful implementation of project deliverables.
- Establish and control project constraints and scope, managing the end-to-end delivery of different digital solutions.
- Take ownership of identifying and resolving project risks and issues, ensuring their timely resolution.
- Align project objectives with company goals and ensure the project team is clear on objectives.
- Monitor the progress of team members across different functional boundaries and provide support to help them achieve their goals.
- Lead the process of issue identification and resolution.
- Promote and ensure the implementation of agile principles and practices.
- Coach and mentor, your team in agile process agile practices ensuring the teams agile maturity.
- Define and enforce best practices.
- You will manage the processes for information exchange with teams.
- Collaborate with distributed teams of product managers, developers, and QA testers to resource, define and schedule activities required to develop and launch new digital solutions.
- Provide management-level reporting on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Competencies / Skills:
- University Degree in Computer Sciences/Business Informatics or related studies.
- 1+ years of experience as a project manager in a software development environment with a preference including experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc).If you have been through a waterfall-to-agile transition, all the better.
- Understanding of software development and associated technologies. You don’t need to have experience as a software developer, but you need to know enough to follow technical discussions and bridge communications between product managers and developers.
- Competences with various Agile methods, frameworks and tools and strong practical experience with those methods
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse functional groups and employees at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively to teams and stakeholders.
- Well organized, highly motivated, process-driven, and results-oriented with the ability to prioritize and collaborate in a multi-tasking environment.
- Commitment to doing what it takes to meet project milestones.
- Quick learner, able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Team player – positive, committed, and selfless, willing to pitch in and help others when needed.
