The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, visited NewCo FerroNickel Complex L.L.C in Drenas, a company owned by Balfin Group. In addition to the main executives of the company, the Prime Minister was also received by the President of Balfin Group, Samir Mane.

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti, visited NewCo FerroNickel Complex L.L.C in Drenas, a company owned by Balfin Group. In addition to the main executives of the company, the Prime Minister was also received by the President of Balfin Group, Samir Mane.

During the visit, they discussed about the challenges that the company is going through due to the crisis and the assistance that the Government of Kosovo can provide to overcome the difficulties due to the significant fall in nickel prices in world markets.

“Together with the ministers and the mayor, we talked in detail about some of the issues we can address, helping this company, starting with mineral rent and a support that we must give to free a part of the mines, in order to allow their exploitation from the company. Of course the business of the company depends on the international market, on the price of the product on the international stock exchange and given the experience that Mr. Mane has, I believe he can penetrate other markets”, said Prime Minister Hoti.

Further, the Prime Minister stressed that concerning the government along with the local authorities, they will give all the necessary support to the company within the legal framework, even in normal operating conditions, but especially now when the entire economy in Kosovo and in the region is facing difficulties.

Balfin Group President Samir Mane, after thanking Prime Minister Hoti for the visit, said that the time is not the best for Ferronikel, but stressed that they will do their part to penetrate the international market. He said he would be grateful that the issues raised were addressed where they should be, properly and timely.
