Position Overview:
A Deputy Store Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all operational processes and decision-making within the store.
They ensure the correct implementation of company standards, sales optimization, improved performance of the unit they support, professional development of their team, and strong brand presence in the eyes of customers by delivering excellent service that exceeds customer expectations.
They continuously monitor all store department activities, including cash registers, warehouse, and sales floor operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors store cleanliness throughout the day and takes measures to ensure high standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Manages and oversees the store’s overall inventory, both on the sales floor and in the warehouse, ensuring product security.
- Monitors product displays and implements Jumbo’s merchandising policies in the store, taking an active role in decision-making processes.
- Oversees the receipt of supplies, transfers, and other stock movements from third parties.
- Ensures that store prices are always accurate and implemented according to Jumbo standards.
- Controls store cash-handling operations and ensures transactions are conducted in full compliance with company standards and security procedures.
- Monitors monthly store expenses and ensures they remain within budget.
- Oversees cashier transactions to ensure speed, accuracy, and service quality.
- Is responsible for coordinating cashier activities (opening/closing, daily postings, safe counting, coin distribution) and ensuring proper functioning in the absence of the cashier supervisor or when necessary.
- Coordinates the work of operational employees, supervisors, merchandisers, and price specialists.
- Carefully prepares staff schedules based on internal company procedures and efficient operational planning.
- Is responsible for training staff at all levels within the store, ensuring training effectiveness and the smooth integration of new employees.
- Takes preventive and corrective measures in cases of non-compliance or misinterpretation of company standards by themselves or their team.
- Implements administrative measures within their authority for violations of company standards and internal procedures, in cooperation with relevant departments.
- Places orders in the system considering stock levels, sales performance, and customer orders.
- Has thorough knowledge of store products, including variety, quantity, types, and characteristics, and trains staff accordingly.
- Has strong knowledge of the architectural structure and display unit specifications in Jumbo stores and takes actions to improve their performance.
- Understands the strengths and weaknesses of the team and actively works toward continuous improvement.
- Continuously studies the market and competition, contributes to product development, and uses this knowledge for strategic decision-making in the store.
- Is intuitively and consciously customer-oriented, using Jumbo standards to provide excellent service and positively impact sales.
- Regularly reports on market research related to competitors.
- Reports any customer-related incidents and assists in their final resolution.
- Periodically reports product-related issues to the superior or upon request.
- Prepares various reports as requested by the superior or Headquarters departments.
- Takes an active role in the recruitment process by interviewing operational staff in cooperation with the Human Resources Department.
- Provides continuous feedback when required regarding employee performance.
- Continuously mentors key positions, directly influencing their professional development and overall store performance.
- Is responsible for store inventory and stock control, taking corrective and preventive measures to ensure satisfactory results.
- Takes corrective and preventive actions during store operations to avoid customer or employee dissatisfaction caused by negligence or workload.
- Complies with internal company regulations, ensures adherence to dress code and professional conduct, and monitors employees accordingly.
- Cooperates with colleagues during operational duties and maintains a collaborative spirit with other departments, supervisors, store management, and security personnel.
- Handles customer issues situationally, using knowledge and experience to resolve misunderstandings, and seeks assistance from a superior when necessary.
Requirements
- Higher education degree
- At least two years of management experience (Retail experience is an advantage)
- Knowledge of English and/or other foreign languages
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
