Position: Group HSE Engineer
Department: Reporting, Costs, and Quality Assurance
Location: Tirana
Summary: The HSE Engineer of the Group is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental standards across all companies within the group, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal technical procedures. Additionally, they support the company in developing initial ESG initiatives and basic reporting on environmental and social performance, in line with the group’s policies.
Main Responsibilities:
HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) – at Group Level
- Provides specialized assistance in implementing contractual obligations in the field of occupational health and safety, in compliance with the legal framework.
- Prepares and maintains the complete documentation required under Albanian legislation for Health and Safety at Work.
- Develops and updates HSE procedures for the companies, in line with legal requirements and the organizational development of the company and its staff.
- Conducts periodic inspections in all premises and locations of the group companies.
- Performs specific inspections as requested by companies for risk reassessment.
- Identifies workplace hazards (fire, electricity, hazardous substances, ergonomics, work at heights, confined spaces, etc.).
- Performs measurements of workplace conditions (using a hygrobarometer) and prepares corresponding reports.
- Assesses hygienic, sanitary, physical, and chemical conditions in the work environment.
- Organizes and conducts emergency drills.
- Prepares inspection reports for each company at each location.
- Prepares and updates the Risk Assessment Document (DVR) for each unit, in collaboration with the responsible team, and develops plans to minimize risks.
- Develops training programs for administrative and operational staff (initial and specific trainings).
- Prepares accident and near-miss investigation documents, establishes reporting procedures, provides technical assistance to determine root causes, and proposes preventive measures.
- Prepares weekly and monthly reports on the group’s HSE performance.
ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) – at Company Level:
- Collects and processes basic ESG data and assists in report preparation.
- Supports the implementation of initial sustainability initiatives and environmental and social practices.
- Collaborates with departments to communicate and raise staff awareness on ESG matters.
Education: Holds a university degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; specific qualifications related to HSE and ESG are preferred.
Requirements:
- Relevant work experience in a similar position.
- Certification demonstrating participation in specific health and safety courses.
- Completion of accredited Safety Coordinator training recognized by state institutions.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and to find solutions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
