Position: HSE Engineer
Department: Reporting, Costs, and Quality Assurance
Location: Vlora Marina, Vlora
Job Summary: The HSE Engineer is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the health and safety of employees within the company. They coordinate all construction sites and the personnel responsible, ensuring that the company complies with legal requirements and those derived from technical safety procedures.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the company complies with legal requirements and those derived from technical safety procedures;
- Monitor the implementation of the health and safety policy;
- Implement the company’s HSE procedures and improve them in line with the company’s and staff’s development;
- Inspect, control, and prepare reports on the implementation of procedures at construction sites;
- Conduct training for new staff and assist in site training regarding health and safety measures in the workplace;
- Carry out Risk Assessment (DVR) for each site along with the designated site team, assist in updating and improving the DVR, and develop plans to minimize risks;
- Prepare periodic reports on the implementation and challenges of Workplace Health and Safety;
- Assist in periodic meetings of the health and safety council;
- Conduct inspections to identify potential risks in the construction site and office;
Inspect and prepare reports on the implementation of procedures at construction sites;
- Assist in drafting the Safety and Coordination Plan;
- Assist in drafting the Operational Safety Plan;
- Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety regulations by company staff and contractors at all sites;
- Prepare periodic reports on the implementation and challenges of Workplace Health and Safety;
- Assist site staff in identifying the needs for personal and collective protective equipment;
- Oversee the implementation of the accident reporting procedure on-site;
- Coordinate with site managers to identify risks in their respective areas;
- Assist in updating and improving risk assessment and developing plans to minimize these risks..
Education: Hold a university degree in Civil Engineering; specific qualifications for the position are preferred.
Requirements:
- Relevant work experience in a similar position;
- Certification proving participation in specific health and safety courses;
- Completion of the safety coordinator training accredited by state institutions;
- Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety standards;
- Excellent proficiency in the English language;
- Ability to work in a team and find solutions;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Proficiency in computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.).
