BALFIN Group and Tirana Bank have handed over the house keys to another family who was left homeless after the earthquake of November 2019. Rama family from Spiten of Lezha have returned to live under a safe shelter, this time in the city, just like the other 10 families who have received apartments from BALFIN Group, so far.
Three days after the tragic earthquake of November 26, 2019, that hit Albania, the Board of Directors and Companies of BALFIN Group, under the special care of the President of the Group, Samir Mane, decided to donate 1.2 million Euros to help families most severely affected by the earthquake. Through direct cash donations to the respective state fund dedicated for this purpose and through donation of several apartments to the National Housing Authority, BALFIN tried to do its best to be close to the most affected and vulnerable communities and families.
The General Director of the National Housing Authority, Stefan Çipa and the Chief Executive Director of Tirana Bank, Mr Dritan Mustafa were present yesterday in the city of Lezha to deliver one of the apartments in question.
During the house handover, the Director of Tirana Bank, Mr Dritan Mustafa, stated: “As we have often seen over the years, BALFIN Group has shown special care on Social Responsibility, by staying close to people and families, wherever they need, in the communities where the Group operates. Such is the case today in Lezha, where we, Tirana Bank are handing over the keys of the new apartment to the Rama family. We will act in the same way with all the other beneficiary families of the apartments, as a special commitment of Mr Mane. May Pashku and his family enjoy the new home”.
Thanks to Tirana Bank contribution, in the framework of the assistance provided by BALFIN Group for the citizens of Albania, 60-year-old Pashk Rama and his family have received a new house after their house was irreparably damaged during the earthquake. Pashk Rama is in a disability pension and the earthquake only made his life in the village of Zejmen in Lezha even harder.
Pashk Rama and his wife looked very happy for their new home and thanked BALFIN Group and Tirana Bank for the donation.
The General Director of the National Housing Authority, Mr Stefan Çipa called for: “other businesses to contribute in overcoming this mutual difficulty that became a ‘gift’ from nature after this devastating earthquake”.
BALFIN Group, through the citizens identified by the National Housing Authority, has so far donated 11 apartments for the affected people in cities such as Durrës, Kavaja and Lezha, where the consequences of the earthquake have been greater.
This has been a direct contribution from the Group companies: Tirana Bank, Neptun Albania and Spar Albania.
