Job Position: Accounting Specialist

Department: Finance Department
Location: Tirana

Reports to: Director of Finance

 

Overview of the Role

Accounting Specialist will provide accounting support to major financial accounting areas, including managing and controlling the transactions performed needed for the preparation of the Financial Statements. Close collaboration with the Head of Department and co-workers aiming a high level of professionalism for accomplishment of the department’s responsibilities. Actively participate in problem solving during daily work activity by giving recommendations and proposals for respective solutions.

 

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensures the recording of all invoices and accounting transactions within a timeframe.
  • Performs controls and reconciliations of asset and liability accounts and ensures the accuracy of balances before the preparation of financial statements.
  • Manages periodic tax declarations in compliance with tax legislation.
  • Handles payments and settlements in accordance with contractual terms and conditions, and within the approved expenditure levels or threshold limits.
  • Manages inventory and fixed assets, including their acquisition, disposal, and depreciation, in line with managerial and fiscal standards.
  • Supports the Finance Manager on tax matters, reporting, and other accounting-related issues/reports.
  • Prepare managerial reports according to the specific needs of the business and the industry in which the company operates.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial/accounting regulations, policies, and procedures to support the structuring and effective management of the finance department.
  • Collaborates with other departments of the company on financial matters and information exchange.
  • In cooperation with the department head, ensures that accounting treatments comply with accounting standards and the regulations of the Bank of Albania.
  • Assists in the preparation of periodic reports for Corporate Finance reporting purposes.
  • Carries out other duties assigned by the department manager.
  • Performs any other tasks delegated by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:

  • Good Knowledge of IFRS Standards;
  • Tax Law and other legislation related to the field;
  • Previous banking or similar financial Institution experience;
  • Accounting Knowledge and related experiences in Finance, minimum 2-3 years of experience;
