Department: Reporting, Costs, and Quality Assurance
Location: Tirana
Job Summary: The cost estimation engineer has the main responsibility of tracking the costs of facilities periodically, drafting estimates as well as prices for relevant items and additional works. He reports directly to the Project Manager and Technical Director.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly situations, booklet of measures, price analysis including situation control of subcontractors and preparation of summary situation for facilities;
- Monthly reconciliation with the Department of Finance for inventories, stock in stock and unloading of materials;
- Compilation and drafting of estimates with the respective prices for items of works performed by the company itself;
- Control of estimates with respective prices of various projects coming from design studios;
- Cost monitoring periodically during the construction phase of the facilities, together with the PM, PT, IK;
- Reporting the costs of facilities to the Project Manager, Technical Director and Finance Department;
- Preparation of tenders for tender packages;
- Review of technical analysis and price manual according to the market and official publications;
- Periodic review of legislation and publications in the Official Journal, regarding issues of construction costs and tax control procedures;
- Market control for prices given by contractors and subcontractors by reporting to the Project Manager to assist in the various negotiations that will be done to fix prices in the estimate;
- Assistance in preparing the monthly budget, cost reports and Cash Flow of works;
- Monthly physical control of inventories for materials;
- Drafting estimates and situations for additional client work, refunds and final reconciliations.
Education: University Degree in Engineering.
Requirements:
- To have not less than 3 years of work experience as a cost preventer or controller for civil and industrial constructions;
- Able to adapt to new technology and requirements dictated by the construction market;
- To be updated with the minimum fiscal prices for various facilities;
- Good communication skills;
- Ability to suggest solutions and make decisions;
- Ability to work in a team;
- To have initiative and flexibility regarding working hours;
- Principles and practices in the use of software (AutoCAD, etc.).
