“The Dictionary of Information Technology” is presented at the 2025 Book Fair as a publication designed to support students as well as all those passionate about specialized terms and expressions that today are widely used by the public. The Albanian- English and English- Albanian dictionary has been supported by the Mane Foundation. Its founder, Samir Mane, met with the authors and readers who expressed interest during his visit to the fair.

This work, the result of several years of research by Erion Çano and Edmond Tupja, contains over 6,000 words and offers an in-depth scientific approach to information technology terminology. During the meeting, Samir Mane praised the authors’ dedicated work and announced that the Mane Foundation will donate a number of copies to universities so that as many young people as possible can have access to it. “I believe in technology and the progress it brings; however, it sounds even better when everyone can approach it through terms adapted in their own language,” said Samir Mane. He added that the dictionary will also serve as an additional knowledge resource for IT specialists within BALFIN Group companies, describing the publication as an important professional and cultural tool connecting technology with the Albanian language.

Researcher Erion Çano, an expert in computational linguistics, highlighted the extensive scientific work behind the project and expressed his satisfaction with the warm reception from readers. He mentioned some of the remarkable developments taking place today in information technology, particularly in artificial intelligence, emphasizing that the dictionary of information technology and similar publications play a significant role in helping people stay up to date with these innovations.

Meanwhile, linguist and translator Edmond Tupja underlined the importance of preserving the purity of the Albanian language at a time when the influence of foreign terms in everyday life is increasing. With a humorous tone, he encouraged all young people to visit the book fair, because, as Shakespeare would say, “to read or not to read, that is the question.”

Since its establishment in 2023, the Mane Foundation has placed education at the core of its mission. The Foundation has supported numerous initiatives aimed at strengthening the education system, ranging from equipping universities with modern laboratories, renovating schools and kindergartens, to involving BALFIN Group professionals in sharing their expertise with students across the country.
