Tirana East Gate opens its doors for all

On November 26, 2011 the newest and largest shopping mall in Albania opened. Tirana East Gate, “TEG” with a gross built area of 90000m2 and a total leasable area of 41,600m2 was opened by the Prime Minister of Albania, His Excellency Dr Sali Berisha, Mr Samir Mane, the majority owner of the TEG and the American Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Alexander Arvizu.

TEG, located 4 km from the city center makes the center unique, not only for its geographic location, but also from the diversity of shops with the center. With the brand new names to the Albanian market such as Carrefour and Jumbo, which are market leaders in their categories of groceries and children and home items.

TEG also has a unique entertainment area with IXY World, with children’s games such as laser tag, 6D cinemas, haunted house and several other new activities unique in Albania. Along with the new anchors, TEG also has the new brands of Cortefiel, Carpisa, Piazza Italia, Parfois, as well as the well regarded brands in the Albanian marketplace such as Neptun, the largest electronics and white goods retailer in the region, and Mango, Calliope, Springfield, Terranova, Okaidi and many others.

The grand opening was highly successful with over 120 000 visitors from all over Albania, numerous media coverage and very happy merchants. The new center will bring a new level of shopping experience to the citizens of Albania with the most modern shops with European brands and diversity, with low and competitive prices.
