Fotelda, take us behind the scenes of your journey at BALFIN Group. What’s the story of how you came on board and what’s kept you excited to stay?
I initially joined Tirana Bank back in 2011, where I built strong foundations in structured processes and corporate governance. After more than a decade there, I transitioned to BALFIN Group Headquarters, where my role expanded to a broader, strategic, group-wide perspective. Most recently, I joined BALFIN Construction, an entirely different industry from what I had previously worked in. This move allowed me to apply my accumulated experience in a more operational environment while continuing to align with the Group’s values, standards, and long-term objectives. What has kept me excited is exactly this opportunity to evolve, learn, and contribute in different contexts within the same Group.
Was there a moment when you realized you made the right choice joining BALFIN Group?
Yes, when I accepted the offer to join the Group HR team. After more than 10 years in the bank, it was not an easy decision. However, that move gave me the opportunity to contribute on a more strategic level and have an impact across multiple companies. At BALFIN HQ, I felt from the very beginning that I could openly share ideas and propose initiatives without fear. I was encouraged to challenge existing ways of working and suggest improvements, knowing my ideas would be heard and discussed constructively. That environment confirmed I had made the right decision.
What’s your proudest achievement at BALFIN Group?
For me, the real impact of your work becomes visible when you leave a role. When I moved from Tirana Bank to BALFIN HQ and later to BALFIN Construction, many former colleagues reached out to say they missed working with me professionally. That feedback meant a lot, it showed that I had added value not only through systems and initiatives, but also through collaboration, trust, and support. That is something I am truly proud of.
Tell us about a recent win that impacted both your professional and personal growth.
A recent achievement I value is my effort to change how employees perceive the HR function. While it’s still early to measure full results, I can already see small but meaningful shifts, more openness, more trust, and more willingness to engage with HR beyond administrative matters. Professionally, this shows that the foundations I am building are working. Personally, these early signs motivate me to continue strengthening HR’s role as a trusted partner for both employees and the business.
What’s a moment that could only happen at BALFIN Group?
One thing that stands out is the freedom to speak up and share ideas without hesitation. I’ve been encouraged to think differently, challenge existing approaches, and propose new ways of working, without worrying about being judged. That openness creates energy and ownership. Feeling trusted and supported in this way pushes you to contribute more, because you know your voice truly matters.
Describe your best day at work. What makes it perfect?
My best day at work is when nothing is urgent, those rare moments when I can fully focus, think, and work in flow rather than reacting to constant demands. That said, being part of a large and dynamic Group means those days are not frequent and honestly, that’s part of the excitement. The fast pace, variety, and constant movement keep you sharp and motivated. I enjoy both: the calm days where I can build, and the dynamic ones that push me to grow.
