Juxhina Spahiu – Project Coordinator, Balfin Construction
Juxhina Spahiu is a bright architect at Balfin Construction. From the construction site in Palasë to her company’s premises, she stands out for her professionalism, coordination, and communication skills. She bridges many different actors in the realization of landmark projects. But perhaps Juxhina’s most precious traits are her courage and ambition to reach for the stars and build exquisite objects with passion. After all, who better than an architect can design a door when opportunities don’t knock by?
Juxhina, tell us a little about your professional journey at BALFIN Group.
My journey at BALFIN Group started in January 2020, as a Site Architect in one of the company’s most challenging projects, Green Coast. My journey began directly after I returned from a 2-year experience in Barcelona, where I worked and obtained a second-level master’s degree. After 2 years at the construction site in Palasë, I was transferred to the administrative offices of Balfin Construction as a Project Coordinator.
What have been some of the most decisive moments throughout your journey from a site architect to a project coordinator? How have your skills and role within the company evolved?
I am a person with a very dynamic and expressive character. I think that I have grown a lot at the construction site, not only professionally. An important role was played by desire and goodwill to take on something and see it through to the end. After the construction site experience, I was entrusted with the role of Coordinator for some of the company’s most important projects. I think that all that I learned on the construction site up until then, took the best form in the next project.

How has work and life balance been on the construction site for you?
Being on the construction site is not easy, especially for a woman and even more so in a challenging project like Green Coast. However, I have enjoyed every moment of this experience. I have learned a lot, I have grown in many aspects, and I have always seen the glass half full.
Which has been your most challenging project, and which has been your favorite so far?
My favorite project is Green Coast, a challenging project beyond the limits of the beauty of architecture, a delicate interweaving between elegance and refined taste, to achieve perfection in the most minimalistic details possible. I think that this project has been like a second architecture school for me, and I am very grateful for the role that I entrusted with.
What is your motivation that makes you excel in your role?
I am motivated by the desire to always reach the end, the finalization of something undertaken.
What are you most proud of so far in your career?
Of the challenges, the hard work and responsibility I put into anything I undertake.
What is something that can happen only in Balfin Construction?
Positive energy regardless of the workload and consecutive challenges, the friendly environment that makes you feel like you are among friends and not just colleagues.
Can you share with us the most valuable advice you have received so far in your career?
If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.
Did you have a mentor or colleague who played an important role in your career development?
I think that the main mentor in my career development has been the courage that took me outside of my comfort zone. I believe that anyone who does this will definitely be successful at some point in their life.
