Maersk Group, the international shipping giant comes to Albania and is represented by Stella Mare, a joint venture by Balfin Group and Milsped

Maersk Line, the world’s largest containerized shipping line is present with its services in Albania. It is pleased to announce that it has started weekly service into Durres Port.

Maersk will be represented in Albania by Stella Mare, a joint venture by Milsped and Balfin Albania, in continuing their successful joint co operation in the field of logistics and transport. Stella Mare will focus on providing services to container customers in Albania and Kosovo and look at expanding Maersk’s presence in the region. 

Maersk will provide the fastest service into Albania for refrigerated containers from South America, and dedicated service from all ports of Asia and Europe into Albania. “The importance of Maersk’s entry into Durres and Albania cannot be understated, this will build on Durres’ Port becoming a regional hub serving Albania and South East Europe”, says Milos Mihailovic , Director of Stella Mare. 

In making Durres their latest port of call in the Adriatic, Maersk continues to expand their service route and provide the best options for importers and exporters of the region. “We believe that Durres Port is a growing logistical hub for the region, and it is important that Maersk is part of it” as shown by the recent changes in legislation allowing Kosovo to have direct customs clearance from the Durres Port will greater enhance the potential of Durres as a regional gateway” says Ivic Vodopija, Managing Director at Maersk Croatia and in charge of Maersk activities in Albania.
