Tirana Bank was a supporter of the Green Business Competition for the second year in a row, organized since 2012 by Partners Albania. This activity aims to stimulate and encourage innovation for business ideas based on the revival of local production traditions, the use of local resources and markets, having an environmentally friendly approach.
During two days, the finalists selected from non-profit organizations, social enterprises, small businesses in the country and individuals, presented their ideas to an independent jury of experts in the field of economy, academia, and business development.
Tirana Bank’s financial support for the Green Business Competition aims to increase the role of philanthropy in the local community and promote sustainable business concepts that match its values as an institution.

In addition to financial support, Tirana Bank also contributed to this activity with expertise. Ogerta Metaraku, Director of the Risk Department for Retail Credits, was part of the evaluation jury.
The two top enterprises of the competition in the conceptual phase were Clay Play LAB, a ceramics creative hub, and Purteka, a traveling gardening shop for children. The category of green businesses in their first phases of implementation distinguished Mjedrat e Danjës, a raspberry cultivation business; Reality Escapers Albania, a hiking tour operator; and clothing artisan Trendy Traditë.
The three national-level winners will participate in the Balkan Green Ideas Competition with the participation of national competition winners from Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Greece.
