Leons Tuda is one of the young, promising power engines of BALFIN Group’s Finance Department. He joined BALFIN’s headquarters in 2020, and after a year of distinguished work, he was entrusted with being one of the key note speakers at the first edition of BALFIN Retail Forum. For his exceptional contribution to the forum, efforts beyond his job description, growth potential and leadership, Leons was presented the Stand Out Performer Recognition from BALFIN headquarters, in addition to being selected as this month’s Success Story. Read his interview below.
Describe your professional journey at BALFIN Group.
I have known the Group for almost 6 years, as an external auditor of major group companies and on June 2020 I joined BALFIN at my current position. I started out with the key objective of making possible BALFIN Group consolidation in-house and optimizing the process to boost confidence to our stakeholders regarding timelines and quality of the group’s financial reports.
I would say that for the past year, BALFIN has challenged me in utilizing all of my skills and pushing the boundaries even more. I firmly believe that during this past year, BALFIN has been a major contributor to my professional development and the challenges that lie ahead will do even more so.
What was the moment you knew you’d made the right decision to work at BALFIN Group?
I would say it was after the Group’s financial consolidation was completed around September 2020. I started to engage more on other functions of corporate finance that gave me an overall understanding of the Group and made me see the huge opportunities that lie within it. BALFIN’s dynamic environment and the opportunity to contribute to circumstances created by such fast-paced business is something that has excited me since I joined the team and continues to do so.
What are you most proud of in your career at BALFIN Group?
I would pinpoint as the proudest achievement in my career, the process built up for the preparation of accurate and reliable consolidated financial statements in a short time. These financial statements will help us as BALFIN to establish more trustworthy relationship with the banks and all other stakeholders as well, through promoting transparency and credibility.
Describe a recent professional achievement that you believe also contributes to your personal success.
Well this goes beyond saying that being one of the key speakers at the first BALFIN Retail Forum was a significant professional achievement that undoubtedly has challenged me in a different dimension with what I was used so far.
It served as a great opportunity in getting to know much better myself and moving outside of my element while exploring a different part of the business. And it is true that one can only experience themselves the most by moving outside of their comfort zone, creating an incredible effect that expands our vision of what is possible.
What’s something that happened that can only happen at BALFIN Group?
Usually, when you look over at the vision and core values of different companies, it’s difficult to translate that in real actions. But here at BALFIN, I can definitely say that it happens. The culture built to drive constant development and innovation has placed the Group in a unique position.
At BALFIN I have come to understand that everything is possible only through hard work, dedication and passion in what you do.
Describe the best day you’ve had at work.
I can honestly say that each day that passes by has given me a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. If I had to seclude a single day, that would be the day of the BALFIN Retail Forum. It was one of those days that at the end I knew I had pushed myself into something new and exciting.
