From recycled materials to innovative ideas: another collaboration promoting young talent, creativity, and environmental responsibility.
What happens when young creativity meets environmental sustainability? Materials that would normally be discarded can become works of art and inspiring new ideas.
This was the spirit of the fifth edition of “Riciklo Kreativ,” an international architecture competition organized by the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning (FAU), with the support of MANE Foundation and in collaboration with TEG. Both are part of the BALFIN Group ecosystem, contributing to initiatives that create a positive impact on the community.

At the closing ceremony held at TEG, the competition’s winners were announced, and projects developed by architecture students from Albania, the region, and beyond were presented.
Under this year’s theme, “Outdoor Sculptures,” participants were challenged to rethink the traditional use of materials by designing outdoor sculptures made from recycled resources. The selected projects were developed into scale models and exhibited at TEG, giving students the opportunity to showcase their ideas to a wider audience.
A Collaboration That Creates Opportunities
Through the support of MANE Foundation and the involvement of TEG, “Riciklo Kreativ” goes beyond a student competition. It creates a platform where emerging talents can demonstrate their potential, while visitors discover new perspectives on recycling, design, and environmental protection.
This collaboration also reflects BALFIN Group’s commitment to supporting younger generations, education, and sustainable development, bringing together social impact and the active involvement of Group companies.
Sustainability: From Ideas to Concrete Actions
The message behind “Riciklo Kreativ” is closely connected to the sustainability practices TEG implements in its daily operations to reduce its environmental impact.
TEG has invested approximately €1.9 million in clean energy, installing solar panels that generate around 2.9 million kWh of electricity annually. Today, 95% of the shopping center’s lighting uses LED technology, while a smart management system optimizes lighting and climate control, alongside the use of natural light and ventilation.
Its commitment to a greener future also extends to electric mobility, with 10 charging points enabling more than 6,000 charging sessions each year. Through initiatives such as “Riciklo Kreativ,” these efforts gain an educational and community dimension, bringing the message of sustainability closer to the public.
For MANE Foundation and TEG, supporting young talent and promoting environmental responsibility are two meaningful ways to contribute to a better future. This initiative is another example of how collaboration within the BALFIN Group ecosystem can create value that extends beyond everyday business activities.
