Tirana Business University will host TEDxTBU on 21 September 2025, bringing the TEDx experience to Albania. The event connects students, academics, industry professionals, and innovation leaders, featuring a curated lineup of speakers alongside two renowned TED video presentations.
Brenton Kotorri, Lecturer of Communication at TBU, describes the organization as a positive challenge: “TEDx is always a positive challenge. Organizing an event like this requires coordination across multiple levels. The biggest challenge was designing a program that genuinely speaks to students, faculty, industry professionals, and innovation enthusiasts.” He emphasizes: “TED is a global platform with a strong reputation. This event combines the academic and scientific dimension with a practical, interactive approach. It is not just a conference, but a platform where anyone can step onto the stage to share ideas that truly matter.”
The TBU community welcomed the event enthusiastically. “Students see it as a unique opportunity to learn from experts. Faculty recognize it as a step that enhances TBU’s reputation. Panelists are honored to engage with a dynamic, energetic audience and share their ideas globally,” adds Kotorri.

Speakers bring diverse expertise. Philip Gilpin Jr., CEO, Catalyst Story Institute, says: “It is a privilege and honor to be part of TEDxTBU. I see this event as an opportunity to share my experience and inspire students and the academic community here in Tirana. My work at HBO and Catalyst Story Institute taught me the transformative power of storytelling, and TEDxTBU is an ideal platform where creative ideas come to life.”
Gëzim Paçarrizi, Architect, notes: “It is essential that universities open their doors to events like TEDxTBU. Universities are platforms where ideas are exchanged, and new visions emerge. Innovation is not learned; it is inspired.”
Alfred Aga, M.D., adds: “We are bringing innovative surgical techniques to Albania recognized worldwide. Attendees will gain practical knowledge of the latest trends through real examples of medical innovation and inspiration to develop their professional skills.”
