Mane Foundation is making another valuable contribution to cultural heritage by supporting the publication of the photographic album “Cultural Heritage” by Alket Islami.
Under the special care of Foundation’s founder, Samir Mane, this project aims to provide both locals and foreigners with the opportunity to explore history and heritage. The album will cover various monuments, mosaics, amphitheaters, and castles, including those that are typically inaccessible.
Alket Islami has already released the first volume of the album, “Albania from the Air,” which features aerial photographs taken over the years, from north to south and deep into its regions.
For those interested, including curious tourists, the photographs provide a unique perspective of UNESCO-protected sites, along with many other locations.
The album consists of around 200 pages, each accompanied by descriptive texts based on the discoveries of various academics and archaeologists.
“Cultural Heritage” contributes to the expanding collection of works on archaeological sites, and offering a valuable resource for explorers, while also encouraging sustainable tourism.
It highlights prehistoric period through aerial photos, and also explores the Stone Age, featuring photos of ancient fortresses, towns, and Illyrian cities, as well as the medieval era.
The publication is expected to be followed by additional volumes, continuing to showcase cultural heritage from the sky, all under the care and support of Mane Foundation.
This project aligns with the foundation’s core mission: the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.
For 2024, Mane Foundation has allocated 800,000 euros for various social projects, benefiting 42,000 individuals across 5 countries. Additionally, it has implemented 43 projects in the region, with a significant focus on initiatives directly related to culture.
