World Down Syndrome Day / BALFIN Group’s ongoing efforts for equal opportunities

Every year, on March 21st, World Down Syndrome Day is observed as an opportunity to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of integrating individuals with Down syndrome into society. It is a special moment to reflect on the contributions we can all make in creating a more inclusive society, where individuals with Down syndrome have equal opportunities to contribute and develop their full potential.

BALFIN Group, with its ongoing commitment and support, is an exemplary model of how change can be made in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome. For over 10 years, BALFIN Group has demonstrated how its policies on employment, social support, and healthcare provide sustainable opportunities for individuals with this syndrome, helping them integrate both professionally and socially.

A concrete example of this commitment includes 2 individuals who have been part of Fashion Group Albania stores for almost five years. They have become an inseparable part of the sales team, contributing with their dedication and positive energy, making the workplace environment warmer and more friendly.

Another important aspect of BALFIN Group’s support is providing access to healthcare and quality education for children and young people with Down syndrome. This access is ensured through the ongoing collaboration of the group’s companies with specialized organizations and clinics, where educational and learning products are provided, as well as covering the costs of therapeutic sessions. This support has been consistent not only in Albania but also across the region where BALFIN Group operates.

Elvin Nosi, BALFIN’s Director of Human Resources, shared all of this with a wide audience during his appearance on the radio-television program ‘Wake Up’ on World Down Syndrome Day.

This year, BALFIN has also encouraged its employees to participate in a symbolic act, such as purchasing #LotsOfSocks from Down Syndrome Albania Foundation. The funds raised will support children at the PRO PAK service center, where 45 children with disabilities, including those with autism and other rare syndromes, receive care each month.

For those who haven’t yet bought their colorful socks, they can visit any Fashion Group Albania store. Together, we can make a real impact and inspire meaningful change for a better society and future.
